What We Do

Electrical is invisible when it's right.

A basement on two undersized 15A circuits can't run a gym, a theater, and a bar without tripping. A basement on LED recessed with no dimming plan looks like a parking lot. We plan the electrical layer at the same time as the layout — every circuit, every light, every switch location drawn before walls close.

Electrical work performed or coordinated by licensed NJ electrical contractors where required. Permit applications, inspections, subpanels, and service-upgrade planning are coordinated with the appropriate trade professionals and municipality. If your panel is maxed, we plan the subpanel or upgrade at the start, not during buildout.

Smart controls (Lutron, Caseta, Control4) where you want them — or plain old analog switches where you don't. We don't force tech on anyone.

Scope

What we handle under one roof.

Recessed & Accent Lighting

4" or 6" LED, dimmable, wet-rated where needed. Layered with wall sconces and cove lighting.

Smart Switching & Controls

Lutron Caseta, Control4, or simple Decora — whatever fits your life and budget.

Service & Subpanel Upgrades

100A to 200A or subpanel additions, coordinated through licensed NJ electrical contractors and PSE&G.

Dedicated Circuits

Gym equipment, sauna, refrigeration appliances, home theater rack, sound studio — their own circuits, no shared loads.

AV & Network Wiring

Cat6a, speaker wire, projector power, HDMI paths — roughed-in before drywall.

Egress Well Lighting

Well lighting where required or desired for safety and aesthetics — including natural-light amplifiers.

Local Context

Pre-1990s Bergen split-levels often cap at 100A — sometimes 60A.

Plenty of Bergen County homes built before the 1990s still run 100A or even 60A service — not enough to add a finished basement with theater, gym, and bar without a subpanel or full upgrade. We survey your panel on the site visit and include any needed upgrade in the quote up front. Finding out mid-project that you need a service upgrade is expensive and scheduling-painful. We'd rather know on day one.

Questions

Straight answers.

Do I need a panel upgrade?
Depends on what you're adding. A finished basement with lighting and a few outlets can fit on a 100A panel. Add a theater, gym, bar, sauna, or major equipment load and you're usually at 200A or a subpanel. We calculate load on the site visit.
Do you handle permits?
Most basement electrical work requires permits and licensed electrical contractors. We coordinate permits, inspections, and final sign-off with the licensed trade partners performing the work.
Are LEDs really better than recessed halogen?
Yes, and dimmable LED trim has caught up on color quality. Halogens in a basement are a heat problem and a replacement-cost problem. LED is the default for new basement lighting.
Can I do smart lighting retroactively?
Wired-in smart switches (Lutron Caseta, Leviton Decora Smart) work with any LED. We can add smart control to any existing or new circuit.
Do you do solar or generator tie-ins?
Not directly — we partner with specialists. We rough-in transfer-switch locations and generator feeds during electrical rough-in if you're planning one.
